AUTOMOTIVE TIPS | HOW TO REMOVE MACHINE PARTS (CYLINDER HEAD, VALVE AND VALVE MECHANISM) CAR CORRECTLY ACCORDING TO THE SOP

Hello automotive friends, in this article, we will share information about how to properly remove car engine parts. In a car engine, there are cylinder head components, valves and valve mechanisms. Can you remove the component? In this article, we share tips on how to remove car engine parts.

how to remove cylinder head

1. Cylinder Head

Removing the cylinder head of a gasoline engine or diesel engine should be done when the engine is cold. Releasing hot will result in curved cylinder heads. In a gasoline engine, the parts that are attached to the cylinder head must be removed first such as: the lever and the shaft, the inlet and exhaust pipes, the spark plug wires and the spark plugs, and in diesel engines, the fuel oil lines and injector.

2. Lever Group

Remove all the fastening bolts, starting from one of the very ends then loosen it a little at a time until it comes off. Be careful when removing the last fastening bolt because the other bolts have been released, so the valve spring at the end of the last one presses the lever upward.

In machines that use the bullet joint pry lever, the way to remove the arm is to simply release the adjusting nut one by one until the push rod of the valve is free.

3. Valve Pusher Rod

After the pry lever is released then remove the valve push rod one by one and store it on a special rack which is marked so as not to be confused with one another.

4. Cylinder Head Fastener Bolts or nuts

Loosen all cylinder head fixing bolts or nuts gradually (1/4 turn), using the reverse sequence of hardening until the looseness is even. After all the bolts or nuts are loose then remove them one by one while paying attention. There may be bolts that are not the same length or some have holes, so that the bolts can be returned to their place.

After all the bolts or fastening nuts are removed, the cylinder head can be lifted using two lifting bolts. If it turns out that when you lift the cylinder head it is attached, then the edge around the cylinder head can be hit several times with a soft hammer (plastic or rubber hammer) so that the connection is untied.

Take care that the flat surface of the cylinder head is not damaged by sharp objects that cause leaks.

5. Valves

Install the cylinder head on the holder, if a holding tool is not available, the cylinder head can be placed on its side on the work bench so that the smooth and flat surface is not scratched by sharp objects.

Remove the valves one by one with the valve release tool C-model, press the valve spring and then release the valve lock, so that the valve and spring are disconnected.

Keep valves, valve springs on a rack with a sign so they are not confused, do so for all valves.
